God is in complete control of the whole universe, but he does not control your will to choose life or to choose death.
God is in absolute control, but God does not control you to love and obey him or to choose to hate him and rebel against him.
The fourth angel poured out his bowl on the sun, and the sun was allowed to scorch people with fire. They were seared by the intense heat and they cursed the name of God, who had control over these plagues, but they refused to repent and glorify him (Revelation 16:8-9).
God is in perfect control, but when people choose to reject the truth and disobey God, they remain under the control of the devil.
We know that anyone born of God does not continue to sin; the One who was born of God keeps them safe, and the evil one cannot harm them. We know that we are children of God, and that the whole world is under the control of the evil one. We know also that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true. And we are in him who is true by being in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life (1 John 5:18-20).
